Every one of the five dives in a given round must come from a different one of the six categories (forward, back, reverse, inward, twisting, and armstand). Somersaults, position, twists, approach, and entry are all taken into account when determining a dive’s level of difficulty.
Dive difficulty is not capped; even the FINA-calculated hardest dives (reverse 4 12 somersault in pike position and armstand reverse 4 somersault in pike position) are fair game for competitors. A group of seven judges will determine the final scores.
