Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen was born on June 14, 1996. During the 2011 AIBA Women’s Youth & Junior World Boxing Championships in Antalya, she triumphed as the champion.

Zareen is the fifth Indian woman to win a gold medal at the IBA World Boxing Championships, having done so with her victory in 2022.

Since June 2021, Zareen has been serving as a general banking officer at Bank of India.

She triumphed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and she took home the gold.

Nikhat Zareen Personal Life

Nizamabad city in Andhra Pradesh is the place where Nikhat Zareen was born on June 14, 1996 to parents Mohammad Jameel Ahmed and Parveen Sultana (now Telangana).

She graduated from Nizamabad’s Nirmala Hrudaya Girls High School, where she studied for her elementary and secondary education.

She is currently enrolled at AV College in Hyderabad, Telangana, working toward a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).

Zareen is now working in the Bank of India’s AC Guards, Hyderabad zone office as a staff officer.

NIKHAT Zareen recalls that when she was young, people would ask her father, Mohammad Jameel, “why have you put her in boxing?”

Who would want to marry her? (Who will marry her? / It’s a men’s sport (mardon ka khel hai).

Her father reportedly told her, “Beta, you focus on boxing, and when you do well, the same people will come and ask to take photographs with you.”

That dream came true on May 19 in Istanbul, when she won the women’s flyweight (52 kg) category at the Women’s World Boxing Championships.

Nikhat (age 25) was kept up all night long by well-wishes and favour requests.

Nikhat, who is only the fifth Indian woman to win the championship, spoke about her experiences fighting for gender equality in the ring.

And in the community in an online interaction with The Indian Express Idea Exchange on Friday.

Conclusion

Nikhat began boxing seriously in 2009, won the youth world championship in 2011, advanced to the quarterfinals of the senior world championship in 2016.

And is now a world champion. That’s why I train so hard: to bring home the gold for Team USA at the Olympics. I am trying my best to achieve that,” she said.
