He won the gold medal, making him the first gymnast from the Philippines to win a World Artistic Gymnastics Championships event. His results were good enough to get him into the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. C.E. Yulo was born on February 16, 2000 in Manila, Philippines to parents Mark Andrew Yulo and Angelica Yulo.

He grew up on Leveriza Street in the Malate district. He is the middle child of five, and his younger brother Drew is also a gymnast. In Malate, at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, C.E. Yulo regularly witnessed the preparation and competition of Filipino gymnasts.

At the 31st Southeast Asian Games, held in Vietnam, C.E. Yulo has already won three gold medals. On Sunday, C.E. Yulo scored 14.400 points to win the rings finals and claim his third gold medal.

Following him were Vietnamese leaders Nguyen Van Kanh (13.8) and Thanh Tung Le (13.5). C.E. Yulo along with countryman Jan Timbang, failed to place on the podium in the pommel horse competition before winning his third gold medal.

Both Aleah Finnegan and Lucia Gabriel failed to place in the top three in the women’s uneven bars competition. C.E. Yulo won the individual all-around and floor exercise events, respectively. Filipino gymnast C.E. Yulo won his second gold medal in the 31st Southeast Asian Games on Monday at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam, in the men’s horizontal bars competition.

C.E. Yulo won the competition with a score of 13.867, tying him for first place with Dinh Thanh Phuong, a local favourite. Thanh Tung Le, another Vietnamese wager, scored a bronze medal-winning total of 13.433 points.

This will be C.E. Yulo fifth gold medal overall, after his previous triumphs in the vault, rings, floor, and men’s all-around. After competing with other Filipino gymnasts Jan Timbang, Juancho Besana, Justin Ace de Leon, John Matthew Vergara, and John Ivan Cruz, the young athlete finished with a silver medal in the team competition.

Conclusion

Artistic gymnast C.E. Yulo has won several medals at the World Championships (bronze medal finish in 2018 and a first-ever gold medal for the Philippines in 2019). Additionally, he took part in the Olympic Games held in Tokyo in 2020.

However, he was unable to bring home the bacon following his shocking loss because of an injury. He’s currently competing in the 31st Southeast Asian Games, where he’s brought home five golds and two silvers so far.
